Our Youngest Volunteers Demonstrate the Joy in Serving Others

The families and kids and teens who volunteer with us always bring a great energy and genuine joy to our Wednesday meals. Whether you’re seven, or eighty-seven, our volunteers come together through the desire they share to help others in less fortunate circumstances. That desire to help others transcends the generational and economic differences that often separate us from really knowing and understanding each other.

We are especially grateful to our parent volunteers, who make giving back a family activity. They don’t just talk about the virtues of generosity, compassion and gratitude — they and their children put them into action. Prepping and serving meals, interacting with our guests and making new friends are what happen every Wednesday at CHI.

And, volunteering at CHI is fun! It’s obvious, from these pics of some of the families and kids who have volunteered at our recent meals. And, scroll down to watch the video about why the Schlinger family made CHI their charity of choice.
