CHI 2014 Fundraiser
The Chicago Help Initiative, a not-for-profit organization that provides meals and social services to the homeless, underpriveledged, and today’s jobless citizens of the near North Side of Chicago, recently raised $65,000 at its 14th annual “Helping Hands” fundraising benefit.
The event, held on Tuesday, June 12, 2014 at The Montgomery Hall, featured Master of Ceremonies, ABC 7’s Steve Dolinsky, and attracted more than 325 individuals looking to make a positive difference in the lives of local residents who are affected by homelessness and poverty.
Guests enjoyed liquid libations provided by 4 Brother’s Blended Beer, Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Binny’s, along with food prepared by Chicago’s Finest Restaurants, thanks to the generosity of Benny’s Chop House, Eli’s Cheesecake, Gibson’s Steakhouse, Hugo’s Frog Bar, Luxbar, Magnolia Bakery, Mastro’s Steakhouse, Morton’s Steakhouse, RL, Quartino’s, Wildfire and Candyality. The evening also featured music provided by piano stylist, Harriet Wilson Ellis, a fabulous silent auction, followed by a presentation of the “Helping Hands” Award given this year to Monsignor Michael Boland of Catholic Charities and Marc Schulman of Eli’s Cheesecake Company, for their generous support of the mission of CHI.
The evening concluded with a heartfelt thank you from Jacqueline Hayes, the founder and President of The Chicago Help Initiative, “At the end of the day our mission is about one thing: people helping people. Over the years we have attracted a remarkable group of individuals, from all walks of life, who want to make a difference in the lives of others less fortunate. Perhaps you sponsored a meal, volunteered on a Wednesday evening, stuffed holiday gift bags, were a speaker at a program, or bought a ticket to this event. Whatever your contribution, CHI and the guests we serve, appreciate your generosity and support in helping today for a better tomorrow.”
